Katherine Reed
Katherine Arrechea Reed grew up in Oxford, Mississippi and attended the University of Mississippi where she earned a Master’s degree in Elementary Education.
Katherine began her art career in high school as a hobby, drawing charcoal sketches of local buildings and reproducing portraits of famous people. After experimenting with different media and techniques, she discovered her favorite to be a mixed media of acrylic.
Katherine’s subject matter is influenced by her love of nature, the outdoors and the people and children around her. She is a member of the Oxford Artist Guild and Yoknapatawpha Arts Council (YAC). She is currently living in Germantown, TN with her husband and two sons and teaching second grade in Memphis, TN. Her works are shown at the Mustard Seed (Oxford, MS).
